About Laura
With a distinguished career spanning more than three decades, I have been an active singer and music educator since 1989. My performance work in opera, oratorio, concert, and chamber music has taken me across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, enriching my artistry through diverse cultural and musical collaborations.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and Education, as well as a Bachelor of Education. My commitment to artistic excellence has been recognized through numerous international vocal scholarships and Canadian vocal music competitions. These accolades enabled me to pursue advanced studies abroad at the prestigious Kiev Conservatory in Ukraine, the Sixth International Interpretation Courses in Piestany, Slovakia, and the European Mozart Academy in Krakow, Poland which profoundly shaped my interpretative depth and vocal technique.
As a recording artist, I have had the privilege of recording works by original Canadian composers alongside a broad range of international repertoire. My passion for choral and ensemble singing has led me to perform with esteemed groups such as the NSO Chorus, including appearances at the renowned Winter at Tantora in Al Ula, Saudi Arabia, where I performed with the legendary Andrea Bocelli in 2019 and 2020.
From 2014 to 2016, I served as Music Director of the Doha Singers, where I led diverse choral programming and fostered a vibrant musical community. Throughout my career, I have conducted community, school, and church choirs across Canada, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, working with singers of all ages and levels. My leadership experience also includes directing school and community musical theatre productions, where I combined vocal coaching, ensemble direction, and dramatic interpretation.
As an educator, I have taught private voice and piano lessons for over 25 years and have presented numerous vocal workshops, focusing on healthy vocal technique, expressive performance, and stylistic authenticity. My teaching philosophy is rooted in a deep respect for the human voice as both instrument and personal expression. I am dedicated to nurturing confident, technically secure, and artistically expressive singers.
Music remains my lifelong passion—especially the transformative power of the human voice. I enthusiastically embrace every opportunity to teach, mentor, conduct, and perform, continually striving to inspire others through artistry, discipline, and joy in music-making.
